Let’s get the nonsense out of the way…
Welcome to the relaunch of Finding Peak.
Most of you reading this won’t remember the first (brief) iteration, so I won’t bore you with the details of why I let it die (let’s blame “life”).
So why the relaunch?
Two reasons:
1) Writing is part of my journey.
Reflecting on my life, its most productive seasons have been accompanied by a healthy writing habit.
Writing is therapy.
It’s an exhaust valve for thoughts and ideas banging in my head daily.
When consistently writing, I’m a better leader, father, friend, mentor, partner, investor, creator, salesman, coach… I’m better.
So, in large part, this project is selfish.
2) “How” is the number one question
The number one question I get on social media, email, or after speaking gigs is, “How.”
How…
Did I launch an insurance agency directly into the face of the pandemic and sell in 24 months later?
Do I lead a high-functioning, fully remote team of over 20 employees (and growing)?
Does Rogue Risk generate over 350 inbound leads monthly using website and Youtube SEO?
Do we build a world-class tech stack in a technologically antiquated industry like insurance?
Does Rogue recruit exceptional team members while everyone else struggles to “find talent?”
These are just a few of the questions. All of which I’ve wanted to answer for a long time. And while the podcast has served as this mechanism, it’s not exactly the right medium for every message.
It’s time to get to work.
Peak Performance
Peak performance is an impossible target.
I’m not writing this post, and (I hope) you’re not reading it with the misbelief that there is a conclusion to this journey.
There is no conclusion, no destination, and no final countdown.
You pursue peak performance.
Every day, we “Choose ourselves,” as James Altucher would say (his book), working to get just one percent better.
There is the aspirational, perfectly optimized version of yourself, and there is the you of right now. We will never catch the perfectly optimized version of ourselves. But while perfection is unattainable, committing to the journey yields the meaning, purpose, and satisfaction we all desire.
The pursuit is the goal.
The Rub
I have no idea where this project will lead us in the end.
I’m asking you to come along on this journey. Finding Peak is for me.
But maybe, just maybe, something in here might work for you too.
Maybe, over time, we learn together… we grow together… and in the pursuit of peak performance, we all achieve world domination in our own unique way.
If that sounds like a deal you’re willing to make, I hope you’ll subscribe and come along for the ride.
Finding peak,
Hanley
How are you getting 350 inbound leads? I just want 15-20!
